I often get asked:
“What is the best way to promote my business when money is tight?”
“How can I get the word out about my business in the most affordable way?”
No doubt, promoting a small business is a constant challenge. Here are some ideas great for both a new business or for a business that has been around for years without breaking the bank.
1. Get your website up now! If you can’t afford to have someone custom design the site, put your site up using Template Monster or TemplateRover. Both provide templates and tools that make it easy to create a basic website.
2. Set up a free listing for your business in search engine local directories. You can do this at Google Places, Yahoo. Yelp and city search, for example.
3. Ask for leads. Contact the local chamber of commerce, nonprofit organizations, schools and even other businesses who may need your products and/or services.
